Why ZPT is a Better Energy Choice
ZPT is a high performance T5 luminaire that provides significant energy savings. Even when using electronic T8 ballasts, standard 3-lamp parabolic one-lensed troffers consume 85 Watts of power. ZPT can be specified with two standard T5 lamps and a 0.95 BF ballast, reducing power consumption to 60 Watts—saving 29% on energy bills, while delivering comparable light levels. Columbia Lighting offers multiple continuous and step dimming options for even greater savings.
The most restrictive energy code allows only 1.0W per square foot for offices. Using a typical installation with the fixtures
on 8' × 10' centers, ZPT uses 0.80W per square foot, and ZPT with the 0.95 ballast factor uses 0.75W per square foot. Not only does ZPT easily satisfy the code requirements, but it also frees up additional watts to use elsewhere in the building.
